SpaceX set for major stock unlock, with up to $116 billion becoming eligible for sale

SpaceX is about to enter one of the largest stock lockup expirations ever seen in capital markets, according to Bloomberg. Shares worth as much as $116 billion are expected to become eligible for sale for the first time next month. The key date is Aug. 6, when restrictions barring certain insiders from selling up to 911.5 million shares are scheduled to expire. That comes two days after the rocket, satellite and artificial intelligence company is set to report quarterly results for the first time. Bloomberg said the Aug. 6 unlock is only the opening phase. Before the end of 2026, billions of additional shares are expected to become eligible for trading, expanding the pool of stock that can potentially be sold into the market.
